This is our final advert for Cherries album, and we have decided to darken the background 'End of Time' to make it stand out.

Advert Final Drafts
This advert although is neon coloured we felt like the advert didn't match the digital pack and thought we would use pastel colours instead.
We liked the look of the pastel coloured background better than neon pink as we thought it looked more feminine and more attractive. Also coinciding with the digipak to give an overall strong brand identity.
We decided to try different colours for the 'End of Time' behind cherrie. The black font was a better option as the group thought the white made the advert to pail.
We also tried removing the green box/banner to see if this improved the poster and we have decided to remove it as it is too prominent and spoils the original design.
Digital Pack Examples
These are examples in the developments we have made for our digital pack, we wanted to make our digital pack neon but thought the colours looked tacky and we wanted a more professional and effective colour scheme that would attract attention if it was on the self and be kind to the eye.

Final Draft Digipak
This is the final draft of our digital pack as we have improved the design of the cd. We used the pastel neon colours and think the whole theme fits well together. Before submitting this as our final product, we are going to fix the spines as the pink colour does not flow through the entire digipak. Also, the template does not include square panes and therefore we need to resize the images to more fitting square size.

Eyemask scene - StoryBoard
Here is a brief storyboard for the extended scene we have decided to shoot to add more narrative to our music video; we want to show the eyemask up close, along with an extreme close-up of Cherrie's eyes.
We'll then switch to an eye shot reversing into an eye-mask shot (reverse of above).
The sequence was filmed today to be added to our final video, after we discussed our narrative with our tutor. This additional scene will help show that Cherrie is dreaming when she 'captures' her love interest, which will help the video flow better.
Rough Cut 4
This is the fourth rough cut of our music video, with further improvements from the last video. Although there are still tweaks to be made, we feel the video is finally coming together and we will meet the Wednesday 12th December deadline.
TO-DO List...
- Introduction needs to be cut to beat of the drums.
- Further edit the beach/coloured stripes scene to reflect the beat/reduce number of same-y shots.
- Finish editing the black-and-white-stripes/blue background scene.
After a group meeting, our tutor suggested that filming a small scene where our star 'wakes up' from her dream of capturing the boy of her dreams would add to the narrative and help the audience make more sense of the clip, and we hope to film this on Wednesday.

Advert Draft and Ideas
This is our advert draft.
We changed the colours from pink to purple as we felt the colours were too bright and tacky, and have added a\OUT NOW' section where we'll add the artwork of the digipak.
Animatic
We have created an animatic for our storyboard, to help us make sense of the story and editing the video.

Recce Shots Photoshoot and Editing
These images were taken whilst editing the video to support our blog and showing our progress. The First image is the Draft of our digital pack that myself and Robyn deigned.
Constructing the CD
The idea behind our Digital Pack is to show the different
personalities of Cherrie, we wanted it to be striking and quirky so we incorporated
the theme of sweets into the images. The colours needed to flow through the
digital pack and match the striking album cover. Because the theme of our video
is neon we wanted to continue it with album to.
The layout is a six sided digital pack which we have filled
with images of Cherrie. We have used a portrait image of Cherrie for the album
cover where she is wearing a black body con dress which is fashionable and fits
the genre of the artist. Cherrie is looking to the left looking at the wall behind
her that says End of Time; this draws the audience’s attention to the words and
Cherrie because she stands out against the background. when you open the
Digital pack there will be three images, one will be Cherrie looking fierce
staring into the camera holding a love heart with a slogan on, the second image
that will be opposite will show the innocent and playful side of Cherrie, pouting
with a bright red lolly pop close to her mouth, And another image of her
laughing which is a common photo to have in digital packs to show a more
relaxed side of the artist. The back of the album is another image of Cherrie
laughing and looking at the floor the costume throughout the digital pack will
be the same as it makes the layout flow better. As a group we decided that the CD would be a neon
clock the same as the one in the video to add a familiarity for the audience.
Screen Shots of Editing Digital Pack
These are screen grabs from when editing our draft for the digital pack, as you can see the images are not perfect as they do not flow with one another.
Draft Digital Pack
We like the layout of the digital pack and the images we used are correct but are not up to perfessional standard yet.

Digital Pack Draft Images
I have created a mock-up of the front cover of the digipak where we would like to repeat 'end of time' over her, similarly to Rihanna and Olly Murs's recent artwork.
This is our first draft of our album cover we need to include the name of the artist at the top of the album.

Rough Cut 2
Above is the second rough cut from the post-production, which includes our new narrative footage and improvements we mentioned from our last video.
Alongside the narrative, We have fixed the problems with our clock, spending more time on Photoshop editing a serrate clock video to give it a better flow. We have also fixed the introduction title slides which originally were added temporarily; we worked on Photoshop producing separate titles with different levels of drop-shadow and effects to give a neon-flashing effect when added to the video.
We have also added additional scenes into the video, such as the purple backdrop and the black and white-striped backdrop.
Areas for improvement:
- Add the new shoe-stamping introduction.
- Continue editing the footage to fit more to the beat.
- Fix problems with the clock.
- Add more narrative (bridge "boy come to me").
- Fix problems with gap at bottom of studio-shot footage.
Group Meeting
Group Meeting 29.11.12
Today we had another group meeting to discuss our work and ensure we're on track with the ahead deadlines, etc.
- Aimee has been assigned job of sorting through images and beginning to edit the photo-shoot for our DigiPak and will work on a digipak draft within the next few days.
- Robyn will finish the animatic for our music video and then begin work on advert/poster drafts.
- Jack will continue to edit the music video and prepare a third rough cut for this Friday's deadline.
Experimenting with Font
We needed to find an appropriate font to be on our digital pack, that is easy to read, clear but bold. These are a few examples we looked at for the font of the Track List and name of the album.
Draft Back image for Digital Pack
After our successfull photoshoot we collected our favourite images and chose which images we wanted to use for our Digital Pack. We wanted to keep with the neon theame but keep the clothing black beause it makes the colours stand out more. We wanted to keep Cherries pose natural and fun because the front of the Digital Pack will be fierece, this shows the different personalitys within her.
We feel like we could improve by changing the colours and style of font to go with the theme of our video and style of pop genre.
This image will be on the inside right of the digital pack.
This image will be on the left side of the digital pack.
These images will be opposite each other to represent the different personalities of Cherrie, her soft and sweet side with the lolly pop and her fierce pose with the love heart that says spoil me.
Successful Photoshoot - Digital Pack
This is our second time using the photography studio and over all we produced some great images. We experimented with sweets because our theme of our artist has two personalities for example Beyonce. The sweets symbolise the sweet side of Cherrie but her facial expressions are fierece and playful. We used Love Hearts because they have messages on them which we thought were a good idea but when it came to producing the images the messges were not clear on the camera.

Test Photoshoot
We practiced using the photography studio for our real photoshoot for the Digital Pack. We like what Cherrie is wearing as it stands out against the white background which will be eye catching once it has the neon writing on the wall.

Narrative Rough Cut
After our latest team meeting we decided to film the narrative for the video, This is our first narrative rough cut filmed in the libary at college. This is where Cherrie and her love interest meet for the first time and she starts to follow him. Overall we like the pace of the editing and the quality of the shots, we think it will compliment our video perfectly. however the group feel like the last few seconds worth of clips are too 'dragged out' and dont reflet the pace of the song. and so further editing will be needed to ensure we match the pace of the song; we will play around with the studio close-ups ect to add to the pace.

Story Board
Storyboard
We have created a frame by frame storyboard for our music video which allows us when constructing the piece to refer back to our original plans. This helped us with the editing our piece, we may make changes to the shots, scenes and other aspects of the video. For ease of understanding, each slide is expected to last approximately two seconds.

This helped us with the editing our piece, we may make changes to the shots, scenes and other aspects of the video. For ease of understanding, each slide is expected to last approximately two seconds.
What is Genre
We defined 'genre' in the dictionary to get a specific definition.
A category of artistic composition, as in music or literature, characterized by similarities in form, style, or subject matter. We have decided to stick to a pop/dance genre when producing and recording our music video, as it's genres we are most comfortable and enjoy the most, meaning we will be passionate about creating a great product.
Rough Cut
This is our first rough-cut of our music video, and although it is in it’s very early stages, we can see the piece coming together with the camera shots, fast-paced editing and mise-en-scene all complimenting one another.
We like the speed and the pace of the introduction, and also like the different cuts to different scenes, and we also like how the beach scene’s mise-en-scene has turned out, alongside the colourful stripes.
In terms of areas of improvement, we have noted that the marching high-heel shot urgently needs to be re-shot, as it is out of focus and was a ‘test shot’ to see how it would work; we would like to film this in a photography studio using a white background for a greater affect, and will do this within the coming days.
We also have decided that the clock animation, despite much effort, still doesn’t look as effective as it could be, so we will re-draft the clock soon to fit better with the pace of the idea.
The ‘End of Time – Cherrie’ introduction graphic also needs to be updated; we played around on Photoshop to develop a quick indent for the draft edits until we develop a proper brand identity when creating our digipak and advert, which we will begin to draft within the coming days.
We have also realized that a lot of the shots are on the screen for far too long and don’t fit with the pace of the music, so more changes will need to be made during the production to ensure we have a quicker pace and tempo which matches the beat and words of the song.
Overall, however, despite being a rough cut, we are pleased with the direction in which our video is going, and will continue to edit the piece focusing on the points raised above when making changes.

Inspiration Board - Digital Pack
The images we have chosen to include in the mood board inspire our digital pack, We want to go with a sweetie theme but also have Cherrie looking fierce like Beyonce. Katy Perry has previously used candy as a theme for her album California Dreams. We want the Digital Pack to be fun and colourful like our video for End Of Time.
